How to obtain your Ohio Medical Marijuana Card

The state of Ohio has made the process pretty simple.  The biggest concern we see is having a qualifying condition. IBS and chronic pain seem to be an acceptable condition for being approved.  All in all expect to pay $300 – $500 for your doctor’s appointment, license, and marijuana supply.

#1 – Qualifying condition

  • AIDS
  • amyotrophic lateral sclerosis
  • Alzheimer’s disease
  • cancer
  • chronic traumatic encephalopathy
  • Crohn’s disease
  • epilepsy or another seizure disorder
  • fibromyalgia
  • glaucoma
  • hepatitis C
  • inflammatory bowel disease
  • multiple sclerosis
  • pain that is either chronic and severe or intractable
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • positive status for HIV
  • post-traumatic stress disorder
  • sickle cell anemia
  • spinal cord disease or injury
  • Tourette’s syndrome
  • traumatic brain injury
  • ulcerative colitis

#2 – Obtain Your Existing Medical Records

Most doctors on our list will do the leg work for you, you will need to authorize.

#3 – Find a local doctor

Most doctors let you book an appointment online – typical cost can is between $200 – $300.  See our doctors list.

#4 – Ohio License Fee

After approval, you will need to pay the State of Ohio $50 license fee.

#5 – Visit a dispensary

For now, plan at least an hour to two-hour first visit.  You will need to see an onsite pharmacist the first visit.  Come with any questions you have. See our dispensary list.
